"Majority of College-Age Kids Get Help from Mom and Dad" - Science Daily. 05/03/2012.
Patrick Wightman and Robert Schoeni's analysis of PSID data reveals that more than 60% of young adults (19-22 years) receive some financial help from their parents. About 42% reported parental help with bills, 35% with tuition, 23% with vehicles, and 22% with rent. The researchers found disparities by family SES in dollar value of help, but not in share of family income.
