"Baby boomers had better embrace change" - Washington Post. 06/08/2012.
Williams Frey says a demographic and cultural gap is emerging between the mostly white baby boomers and the mostly non-white upcoming generation, many of whom are recent immigrants to the U.S. He says a recent Pew survey found almost half of white boomers viewed the growing number of immigrants "a threat to traditional U.S. customs and values." Boomers would do well to remember their inextricable link to this diverse younger population, says Frey, who will be paying into Social Security and Medicare during the boomer generation's retirement years.
