Dr. Schoeni studies labor economics, the family, aging, and welfare policy. Recent studies include the investigation of changes in old-age health status and disability, the effects of welfare reform on various outcomes, the economic consequences of workplace injuries, and poverty among older women. He serves as Associate Director of the Panel Study of Income Dynamics. He directs a MiCDA network on TRENDS in disability.
