Dr. Weir is Director of the Health and Retirement Study. His current research interests include the use of longitudinal data to study chronic disease processes, especially diabetes; the changing relationship of health insurance, economic status, and health over the life course; how couples jointly plan for risks of old age including retirement, widowhood, and disability; and the use of biomarkers in population surveys.
