Dr. Haan's primary research interests are in the epidemiology of aging populations. Her work has encompassed disease prevention in old age, the etiology of neurodegenerative diseases and the influence of cardiovascular disease on dementia. Her central focus is on gender and ethnicity as cofactors in explaining the heterogeneity of disease and functioning in aging.
