Dr. Schoeni studies labor economics, the family, aging, and welfare policy. Recent studies include the investigation of changes in old-age health status and disability, the effects of welfare reform on various outcomes, the economic consequences of workplace injuries, and poverty among older women. He serves as Co-Director of the Panel Study of Income Dynamics. He directs a MiCDA network on TRENDS in disability.
