Dr. Nicholas studies the role of public policy in health and retirement outcomes for the elderly population. Recent work has examined the effects of managed care on quality and costs in the Medicare program. She is the PI of a study examining the effects of Food Stamp receipt on glycemic control and Medicare costs of older diabetics.
