A MiCDA Research Signature Theme

Many MiCDA affiliates hold positions in the University of Michigan Medical School and School of Public Health, as well as the social sciences. They direct a wide range of projects on chronic physical conditions affecting the elderly, including diabetes, hypertension, and arthritis. Mental health, cognitive functioning and psychosocial support are also key topics that bridge the medical and social sciences. Trends in disability are a major policy concern that is addressed using national data collected at Michigan and elsewhere.
