Dr. Choi's research focuses on inter-relationships among health, family networks and resources, and local-area contextual factors. She currently examines life-course aspects of family spatial proximity, following US families over a 47-year span. Focusing on older adults, she examines the influence of potential family availability on their care utilization and costs. Dr. Choi also assesses health differences at older ages between the US and England with particular reference to the role of contextual factors.
