Elham Mahmoudi, PhD, joined the Plastic Surgery Section of the Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan as an Assistant Research Professor in July, 2014. Prior to serving in the Department of Surgery, Dr. Mahmoudi was a postdoctoral research fellow (2012-2014) in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, at the University of Michigan. She earned her PhD from Wayne State University, in Economics in August 2012 and has an extensive amount of training in research methodology and large database analysis. Dr. Mahmoudi is an expert in health economics and had worked as a data analyst in the financial sector for many years. Her research interests include evaluating healthcare policies, reducing disparities in access to quality healthcare, and optimizing care management for patients with multiple chronic conditions.
