The Well-being of the Long-term Unemployed after the Great Recession

Using data from the Michigan Recession and Recovery Study (MRRS), we will address the following questions:
1. What are the consequences of long-term unemployment after the Great Recession for both households and individuals across multiple domains including health, mental health, finances, housing, and overall well-being?
2. What are the ways in which the long-term unemployed differ from respondents who have had shorter unemployment spells and those who were steadily employed?
