Plasma metabolomics and lipidomics of exceptionally healthy adults

a MiCDA Research Project Description

Investigators: Raymond Yung, Charles Burant, Richard A. Miller

Funding: Amway, 2015-2017 (First Amendment to Research Agreement)

The translational pilot and exploratory project will examine the metabolome and lipidome of 100 community dwelling subjects. The proposal will test the hypothesis that exceptionally healthy middle-aged individuals (defined by medical history, physiological measures and blood parameters) exhibit plasma `omics? that are similar to that found in long-lived rodents. The proposal will pave the way for future studies to identify biomarkers of longevity and response to `anti-aging? interventions.
