a MiCDA Research Project Description

Investigators: Shannon Teresa Mejia, Richard D. Gonzalez, Jacqui E. Smith

Funding: National Institute on Aging, 2017 (1 R03 AG 053734 01)

Couples, who serve as each other's primary source of support, have been found to resemble one another in health and well-being. To better characterize individual health and support available to spouses as they age, this project will use existing longitudinal data to examine how multiple biological indicators of health cluster within couples. This project will identify profiles of spousal resemblance in biological indicators of health and use these profiles to predict future health outcomes.
