a MiCDA Research Project Description

Investigators: James McNally, Jared Alan Lyle, Susan Hautaniemi Leonard

Funding: National Institute on Aging, 2017-2022 (3 U24 AG 056918 01 S1)

ICPSR and the National Archive of Computerized Data on Aging (NACDA) disseminate data from hundreds of NIH-funded research studies, as well as data collected with support from other agencies and foundations, many with questions about health outcomes or status that are not easily discovered with current search protocols. This supplement will increase the use of these extant data for health research by making these variables easier to identify. It will contribute to the Specific Aims of the FACTORS project?s Aims 1 and 3, ?Enhance and expand the longitudinal collections maintained by the NACDA? and ?Distribute enhanced data and documentation to researchers in a form that will facilitate their use, and do so in a cost-effective manner? by reaching into and improving the extant collection of studies deposited with NACDA over the last 35 years.
